Free Spirit Coaching ~ Life and Relationship Transformation
homeSondra's StoryHow I Coachdancer

I like to imagine that I was born a coach. My parents nicknamed me "Smiley" and I recall that one of my first questions was "Why?" I often wondered why people were so sad and angry and not happy in their lives. This curiosity has driven my love of learning and fueled my passion for freedom.
Cody and SondraMy life story so far has been about the search for home.

Being first-generation American of British parents, I grew up straddling two cultures and not being completely at ease in either. Though I was surrounded by four younger sisters. I missed having a large extended family like my dad's in London.

Reading was my refuge from a chaotic household and my imagination was sparked by the many books I devoured. I learned about other cultures and dreamed of traveling to distant lands.

As a child, I dreamed of being a nun, a ballerina, a doctor and an astronaut. When I grew up, I tried on several professions: customer service, software tester/product manager, and fine craft gallery owner. It took me until the ripe old age of thirty-eight to realize that I loved to coach and that I was compromising myself doing anything else for a living.

Now I see that my childhood dreams are part of who I am; a spiritual dancer who helps people heal by exploring the world of their inner landscape.

In adulthood my search for home led me to move several times. I traveled and eventually found my way to the Findhorn Foundation, a spiritual, intentional community in NE Scotland where I lived from 1998-2001. During that time I learned a lot about living in community and finding my life purpose. I thrived in the loving, welcoming environment there.

In 2001, I had an intuition that it was time for me to go back to the States, so I returned and started my coaching practice in Port Townsend, Washington. I lived happily in a sweet cottage near the ocean with my dear canine companion, Cody, and created a supportive community of friends and conscious learners. Four years later, I completed my coaching training with the Hendricks Institute and in 2005 found my way back to Findhorn and HOME.

Now I live near a beautiful eco-village by the sea with my loving partner, Andrew. Community life sustains us, as does solitude, both found in abundance here. Between client sessions, I spend my time playing with Andrew, reading, dancing, dreaming, beach walking and gardening. Life is a continuous delight as I continue to learn and grow!
